Another week, another new focus in our movement room…

This time it’s all about touch and textures as we move, move, move!! Many, many exciting tactile resources have been gathered together so as little hands and feet move and explore senses will be stimulated and taken to a whole new sensory dimension when they are greeted with a range of exciting, differing, wonderful textures!! Rough, smooth, hard, soft, shiny, furry, bumpy, lumpy, holey, scrapey, brushy, grassy, jingly, crinkly, cold, scrunchy…. We can’t wait to hear all the words our little ones conjure up to describe what they can see, hear and feel…. and we can’t wait to closely observe their reactions as hands and feet respond to the different surfaces that they touch and feel ♥️ Our oldest children added their own twist (extension) to this when they independently decided to add cars into the mix and the vehicles, which they had transported from one of the other play rooms, were then used to investigate as they tested out which surfaces they would travel over the best (and fastest!!)…. Still sensory play, but with an even more grown-up twist to it as they investigated and explored together. We love to see how the same resources can provoke and entice, ignite curiosity and spark investigation, exploration and further adventure for all our children, from our youngest babies through to our oldest ‘almost schoolies’… Xxxx
