Not all building’s done with ‘blocks’…

Whilst building ‘blocks’ (or bricks) tend to be the first thing we think of for our little ones to create with, sometimes it’s great to ‘throw in a curve ball’… or in this case a curved arch! Our children selected the rainbow from the resources supplied around the room and decided to stack with it as they added it to their other blocks and various wooden ‘loose parts’ pieces. This was an exciting whole other dimension to explore as it takes patience, perseverance and amazing balance and control to stack arches on top of each another. It was tricky, but they were determined as they set to in their self chosen challenge! Once stacked they spontaneously began to role-play with their ‘people’ (wooden counters/pegs) as they moved them over, under and through their bridges and tunnels… 🧱🌈 xxxx
