More adventures aboard the Jolly bus!!!

?️?️?️?️

After their original bus journey a few days earlier; Free-Flow were soon back on their jolly bus again and even had their own tickets; only this time they managed to combine it with their other current obsession at the time… fireworks!!

Whilst they were on their (imaginary) bus journey they spotted fireworks (amongst many, many other things!) out of the window (our huge interactive screen provided the perfect backdrop to bring their imaginings to life!!)… and it was AMAZING!!

This then led them all on to going outside and waiting at the bus stop in front of Jollies to find some real life buses.

They gave everyone that passed by a big wave and they spotted all the different coloured cars passing by and discussed all the different vehicles they could see.

At the bus stop they had their tickets to wave and they even got to press the information button at the stop to get the latest update.

At last the 446 came by and they gave it a HUGE wave and the very friendly bus driver and passengers waved right back which made our children’s day!!

Following our children’s interests is just so exciting as we never quite know where they will take us… ♥️ Xxxx

The driver on the bus says ‘tickets please’….all day long!!

?️?️?️?️?️

One of our friends in Free-Flow recently sparked up an interest in buses, so they soon all decided to get on and off their own Jolly bus as they went on their way to the seaside (their destination of choice!!).

So chairs were swiftly found and arranged and a sign was placed as they needed their very own bus stop to queue at and wait for the bus to arrive…

Of course they then had to sing ‘wheels on the bus’ multiple times and this soon morphed into making up their very own special little Jolly remix too!!

They definitely had fun and they got the full bus experience as they had to wait at the Jolly bus stop until the bus came before boarding and having their tickets checked, before then embarking on a fun day out at the seaside with their besties!!

Just look at the excitement on their faces… we don’t think their smiles could have got any wider!! We think it’s fair to say they all enjoyed their trip on the bus…

All aboard and step this way for imaginative play and superb friendship!! Xxxx

Bonfire Night

From Chloe’s AMAZING (invitation to play) ‘firework tuff tray’ to the creation of ‘edible sparklers’ and dipping apples in chocolate before adding sprinkles; we are all about creating Bonfire Night traditions and memories here at Jollies… We hope you all have an amazing weekend with your families!!!

??????????????xxxx

….And this week’s

⭐️

bakers are…. Pouncing Possums!!

After one of our little Possums parents told us that they got a toy kitchen for their birthday recently Natalie and Katie decided to follow this newly-found interest by adding a role-play kitchen into their room; in order to extend and follow on these current interests being exhibited at home.

Needless to say this was immediately a HUGE hit!! Since then our babies have been mixing and stirring and passing plates of yummy food to each other and making sure that their grown ups are kept happy with a constant supply of cups of tea and coffee ☕️!!

We love to follow our children’s ever-changing interests and obsessions and we love to support their imaginative play and communication skills through scaffolding and demonstration as they play alongside each other happily cooking up THE best feasts!! ?????️ xxxx

More crazy, amazing interpretations of fireworks and their brilliant colours…

Crazy foam and gloop were the chosen materials to explore in this time and both enabled colours to mix in the most exciting sensory way!

Some children preferred to use utensils (paintbrushes and lollipop sticks created great ‘sparklers’) but some simply wanted to get both hands stuck in and make the fireworks light up the night sky!! Our children chose their own preferred ways to explore as they accessed both these innovative trays.

Fireworks certainly appeal to our senses and our Jolly interpretations of these definitely provided some excellent sensory feedback for our little ones too… ??????xxxx

What did you do at work today?!

We bet you didn’t have your ‘face painted’ in an excellently imaginative way as you were transformed into a ‘monster’ like Imogen was?! ???????

We just love our children’s creativity and the imagination they show as they utilise the toys and resources from around their room!! ♥️ xxxx

Sparkles, sparkles up high in the night sky…

✨?⭐️✨??

Our children’s excitement has turned from all things spooky to all things sparkly as many are now excitedly talking about watching fireworks in their garden and having sparklers with their families at the weekend!!

So this week, stemming from their interests, we have seen children creating bonfires out of craft materials, we’ve had children whizzing and jumping and twirling and swirling outside as they’ve pretended that they themselves are fireworks (with some AMAZING sound effects to accompany them too!!!) and now Tia has excitingly replicated the night sky in a mini ‘tuff tray’ ready for some very exciting mark-making in Cheeky Monkeys…

After dying some rice black and then layering this on top of sparkles and sprinkles she has then added stars and pipe cleaners in the most exciting and inviting way to entice our children to explore and play.

It has been wonderful to see the magic on their faces as their night sky turned bright and sparkly as they twirled and swirled their fingers around !! ♥️ Xxxx

We’re going on a leaf hunt!!

????

After going on a very exciting leaf hunt around the village collecting all things autumnal, Free-Flow have since been using their collected leaves to make their very own leaf man, just like in the story they all shared!

They had to use their imaginations to help them create their masterpieces. Our children enjoyed creating their little leaf figures and they were so very proud of them!

Whilst creating their figures they talked about all the features they would need on their leaf people’s faces before adding them on to really give them character and bring them to life…

Creativity with collected leaves… autumn is just so exciting and inspiring!! ♥️ xxxx

Spooky!!!

At lunchtime today the tables were set for ‘spooooooooky’ as we enjoyed today’s ‘witchy woo stew’ followed by ‘ice scream’… the children were sooooooo excited by the addition of spooky sauce and sprinkles on their pudding as an extra Hallowe’en treat!!!!???? xxxx

Team Spooky!!!

A HUGE thank you to all our Jolly grown ups for their Hallowe’en efforts… from the dog and the frog and the cat struggling to find room on the broom to spooky dresses and pjs and tops, to sparky stars and cats… we simply have it all going on here at Jollies…

Our children look AMAZING too… we have wicked witches, the cutest pumpkins, purring cats and ghost busting heroes amongst many, many other creative things! Thank you mummies and daddies for all your efforts in helping our children to join in with the spooky fun of the day!! ???️?️???️?️ xxxx
